Our Story

The Shared Bag is built on the belief that the pillars of sustainable human existence—environmental stewardship, social equity, and mental well-being—are deeply interconnected. Together, they form the foundation of a more sustainable and just world. By raising environmental awareness, fostering self-reflection, and developing community-driven solutions, we aim to create positive change that enhances the well-being of all life on our planet.

Founded by Suanny Aranguren in 2019, The Shared Bag is a community-driven brand dedicated to reducing waste through creativity, connection, and collective action. We achieve this by offering ongoing collaborative workshops, providing materials and resources for upcycling, reselling, and repairing garments. Our platform empowers designers, artists, and community members to collaborate on and adopt more sustainable ways of consuming clothing.

Our services include facilitating workshops that offer hands-on experience in up-cycling and garment repair, as well as reselling and creative reimagining of fashion items. Through our online store, we provide a space for collaboration, where sustainability-minded individuals can connect and inspire one another. We also host events such as talks, waste-walks, swap sessions, educational programming, and art collaborations, all centered around sustainability.

At The Shared Bag, we believe that by sharing our experiences and resources, we can support one another through life’s uncertainties. We invite you to reflect on the support you needed when you were younger and join us in guiding others toward a more sustainable, connected future. Together, we can light the way for those seeking help, making a positive impact on both people and the planet.
